This guide to taking the perfect girly trip will help you to plan an incredible getaway you won’t forget. Enjoy…
Decide How You’ll Travel
How you all want to travel will largely depend on the budget and the sort of place you’re thinking of going to. You could take a long weekend in a hot country by plane, hop on a bus or even a train. There are lots of different ways to get to your destination – you can even take coaches that cost next to nothing, you’ll just have to be willing to spend a little more time getting to where you’re going. Discuss this between you as a group and then you can start looking at available trips to help you decide where to go. If this is a last minute trip, you can always just get in the car and see what happens.
Book Accommodation In Advance
Even if you don’t plan on booking anything else in advance, booking your accommodation in advance is a good idea. You don’t want to have to wonder around searching for a place to stay. Girly trips should have nice accommodation as a rule! It’ll be where you get ready for the day ahead and get a good night’s sleep, so whether you’re going for the weekend or a week, make sure you choose the right place to stay. You can look at comparison sites and read reviews to help you find the best place to stay.
Research The Best Places For Your Needs
If you’re unsure of where to go, discuss the sort of trip you want and then research the best places for your needs. Do you want nothing but relaxation and nice places to eat? Do you want to see a ton of different attractions? Or do you just want lots of nice bars and a shopping experience? Do your research to find the right places for your ideal trip and make sure you all agree. Take into account the cost of getting there and how much you’ll likely spend in that area too, as everywhere is different. When you can all agree on somewhere to go, you’ll have a much better time!
Plan Fun Activities
Plan a couple of fun activities so you don’t feel confused and overwhelmed when you arrive at your destination. Maybe you could see a gallery or a show. Maybe you could go to a Michelin star restaurant, or go on a bike tour. There are bound to be so many amazing things you can do, so plan a couple to give you some things ready on your itinerary. If you only plan on visiting cool bars, research some of the best places to go. Make sure you have a few things in mind so you don’t end up wasting half of your trip trying to decide what to do! Depending on how many are going, you might want to split up into groups if some don’t want to see a certain museum, for example. You don’t necessarily need to spend the whole trip together.
Don’t Fill Your Itinerary Up Too Much
Although you’re going to want a few fun things on your itinerary, don’t fill it up too much. By filling it up, you won’t give yourselves time to relax and explore the place you’re in freely. Give yourself plenty of time, and you’ll more than likely find some things to do you never would have discovered anyway. Feel free to get an idea of things you might want to do, but only decide on a couple of definites so you have more time to explore. If you want to be really spontaneous, don’t plan anything and just see where the wind takes you!
Plan Your Travel Wardrobe
Plan your travel wardrobe based on the weather and what you’ll be doing. Make sure you take some comfortable shoes if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking. You want to look fashionable to a certain extent but you don’t want to give yourself uncomfortable blisters or anything that will make your trip less special. Take comfortable clothes and going out clothes if you need them, but avoid being the girl who travels with lots of different bags. Packing lightly will make the whole thing more pleasant, and I’m sure there will be some things you can share with your friends. Layering your clothing is a good way to make a ton of different combinations as you travel.
Research Dangers And Take Precautions
Don’t get hung up on the dangers or anything like that when you’re going on a trip. If you let fear stop you from doing everything you want to do, you’ll never do anything at all. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do a little research on the dangers and take some precautions before you go, just in case. There might be certain things you should watch out for in the area to help keep you safe and stop you from running into trouble. When you know what they are, you can take steps to prevent them and then get on to enjoying your trip.
Don’t Live Behind Your Lens Too Much
Of course ,you want to take lots of pictures on your trip. But make sure you don’t live behind your lens. Living behind a lens isn’t really living, and you could miss so much while you’re trying to take the perfect picture. Live in the moment too! Only pull the camera out for great photo opportunities, rather than always looking for those opportunities. If you think, ‘we need photographic evidence of this!’, then definitely take a picture. Don’t just take a picture of every little thing, from your breakfast to your hotel room.
Disconnect From The Internet
So many people are internet orientated these days, it can be difficult to disconnect. Try not to stay on the internet for too long, whether you’re updating Facebook friends or checking your emails. This will take away from your trip and likely annoy everybody you’re with. Unless you have a good reason for using it, stay away!
Don’t Panic If Plans Don’t Go Perfectly To Plan
Things don’t always go perfectly to plan. Don’t panic if they don’t go right for you though. There’s usually always something you can do. If you have travel insurance, you’re covered for everything, so make sure you get it. Other than that, stay relaxed during your trip rather than getting worked up over the smallest thing. When your mood changes you can easily bring the whole party you’re with down. Keep things bright and you’ll all have a better time.
Pace Yourself With Alcohol
Girly trips often mean drinking a lot of alcohol and trying to keep up with your friends. If this is the case with you, make sure you pace yourself. It can be tempting to start drinking in the morning when you’re taking a girly weekend away, but you’ll likely fall asleep before the night time stuff even starts! Really pace yourself and know your limits. Don’t try to keep up with anybody and drink water in between your alcoholic beverages too. This way, you shouldn’t wake up with a hangover either! There are even fun things you can do if you like a drink. See Hermann wine trail for detailed info.
Do An Activity That Doesn’t Involve Drinking
You don’t have to drink until you’ve passed out on these girly trips. There are plenty of activities you can do without drinking too. You could even make it something active, such as a bike ride or yoga retreat. Feel free to enjoy yourself, but don’t feel so bad about it as you’re still staying active. This way you get a good mix and won’t come back from your trip feeling absolutely terrible.
Take Time For Naps
If you’re travelling somewhere warm and getting up pretty early to start the day, you might just need to take time for a short nap in the middle of the day. This will be worth it when you can stay out later on in the evening, rather than crashing out before everybody else! After a short sleep, you should be ready to get up, get ready and tackle the night ahead.
Along with all of these tips, make sure you go with an optimistic view and plenty of spending money so you can have the best time. You don’t need to spend a fortune to enjoy yourself, but the more you have the more you can relax. Then you can enjoy your girly trip to the full. If you have any tips of your own, leave them below!
