The progress of science and the life that most people in a western civilization enjoy have significantly increased the average life expectancy. However, instead of celebrating most people find themselves struggling with age. Aging is not perceived as an advantage or a gift of life, but as a threat on a woman’s beauty, mind and social circle. Aging is depicted as the number one enemy of womanhood. This is what this article is looking at today, along with a healthy dose of anti-aging tips to feel better in your mind, in your skin, and your life.

Protect Your Body From The Pains Of Age

While aging is a fatality, there is no denying that the care you take of your body now – however old you are – is significant in how you age. Indeed, your body is the first indicator of your age. As a result caring for its appearance and its health is key to keeping a youthful body. This starts by keeping healthy hair. There’s no way around it: You will need to maintain a regular relationship with your favorite hairdresser. Indeed, a regular trimming helps you to maintain your hair strong and shiny. Another big mistake is to wear high heels too often, as they can damage your joints and hurt your posture, causing pains in later age. Adopt flat heels for your everyday needs.

Stop Your Age From Showing

Taking care of your body is a preventive action. However, prevention can’t stop your age from showing on your face. The skin naturally loses its firmness and causes wrinkles. While a healthy diet consisting of antioxidant foods and healthy fat can help reduce the phenomenon, there is no natural way back to your youthful face. For many women, it’s about embracing your wrinkles and working with them and not against them. Age adds charm too, look at George Clooney if you need further evidence of it. For many women, it’s about embracing your wrinkles and working with them and not against them. Age adds charm too, look at George Clooney if you need further evidence of it. But if you are not convinced, you can always entrust a specialist, such as Doctor Jordan Rihani, to help to tense your skin back to a more youthful appearance. However, no solution is permanent: You still need to protect your body and to keep your skin healthy.

Keep A Youthful Mind

Aging doesn’t only show on your body; the aging process also impacts your brain. Indeed, the blood flow to the brain reduces with age, and so do the natural connections in the mind. Therefore staying young for longer implies also looking after your mind. The best solution to keep an active blood flow coming to your brain cells is, surprisingly enough, to keep an active lifestyle. Incorporate 330 minutes of sports at least three times a week to keep your brain irrigated. But that is not all of course. Healthy eating habits, such as eating your greens and your reds and oranges – colorful vegetables are packed with beneficial antioxidants – and drinking plenty of water help your brain to refuel its energy. Last, but not least, your brain is a learning machine. So don’t stop using it!

Embrace Your Age, Don’t Fear It

Last, but not least, the best way to enjoy the aging process gracefully, is to embrace your age. Your age is just a number, it doesn’t define who you are. So focus on what you like and what you want to be remembered for as a way of embracing your identity. Aging gracefully is being true to yourself. Don’t fight time.

Love your tips, Heidi! I am trying to embrace as much as possible. However, lately it’s been throwing some real dingers at me. For example, I know have rosacea and dry, patchy skin on my face. Ugh…thankfully, my dermatologist has ways to help me with that. The other is the unknown of visits from Aunt Flo. Although, I love it when she doesn’t visit on a regular basis, those surprise visits really suck. I always say, Age is but a Number, right? We are as young as we think. There are days I feel like I’m in my early 30’s… Read more »
